JaZz In P!nk to Perform Benefit Concert at San Francisco landmark Yoshi’s Jazz Club
The San Francisco-Peninsula Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., in partnership with Delta San Francisco-Peninsula Foundation, will host a benefit concert, which is set for 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, at Yoshi’s Jazz Club in San Francisco (CA). JaZz In P!nk , an all-star female ensemble of musical women in jazz, will be the featured musical entertainment.
JaZz In Pink’s (www.jazzinpink.com) core members include pianist Gail Jhnson, longtime music director for guitarist Norman Brown, violinist Karen Briggs, sought after by such musical greats as Kirk Whalum to Yanni , Althea Rene-a prodigy on the flute who dazzles audiences with her R&B twist on urban contemporary tunes and Mariea Antoinette, principal harpist for the Southeast Los Angeles Symphony, enchants audiences as she serenades them with her state-of-the-art electric harp. Their all-female band showcasing the best of the women in jazz joins these four feature artists.

Proceeds raised from this event will benefit the programs and services supporting area youth, cultural enrichment, health awareness and scholarships for the San Francisco- Peninsula Bay Area hosted by the San Francisco-Peninsula Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and Delta San Francisco-Peninsula Foundation, a non-profit organization, which funds scholarships and book awards for underrepresented youth throughout the San Francisco-Peninsula area.
